The island of Dugi Otok is full of variety of morphology, with many differences in height. The surrounding is interesting place for trekkings and for those who want to explore the nature.
Most of the towns, including Sali, the capital and largest town on the island, are clustered on the eastern coast, away from the rugged landscape to the west. The island also is home to Luka Mir, a rare, inland salt lake.
In Croatian, Dugi Otok means Long Island.
